Involving Users in Research Projects

An integral part of our work consists of testing with users. We developed a guide on how the UX team can best support a variety of projects internally and externally.

Integrating users into the research process is an integral part of our work to develop technology that is user-centred. The purpose of this guide is to show how we integrate user input into research processes to improve relevance, quality, and usefulness of outcomes, and to present a framework on how to work with us. It outlines general principles for involving users across different stages of a project, with an emphasis on aligning research activities with user needs and ensuring findings can inform decisions and improvements for future research.

Overview

The guide focuses on the following core principles:

  • Involve users early and often
  • Use iterative research cycles
  • Select methods based on research goals
  • Turn findings into actionable outcomes
